Tips:

  • If you plan on making hummus and want a super smooth texture, remove the ‘skin’ from the chickpeas before blending.

  • Dried chickpeas grow 2 to 3 times in volume when cooked, so portion accordingly.

  • Food waste tip: If you purchase chickpeas in a can, you can save the thick water they come in (known as aqua faba) and whip it with sugar to make vegan meringue.
